In 1856 the parish records mention only one bell of 17 cwt. This was recast by Taylors in 1887 and is the present 12 cwt tenor. The front five bells were cast in 1907 also by Talyors. The tower needed major repair work in 1989 that saw ringing cease until 1992. Ringing recommenced and continues to this day.

The bells are a mixture of founders from 1638 to 1897 when the front 4 were added to make an 8 in a new steel frame.

A fire in 1964 destroyed much of the church, the 3 bells were melted by the heat of the blaze. The church was refitted and re-dedicated on 11th December 1965. At this time only 1 bell had been fitted. The new 6 were fitted by Taylors in 1973. The tower is fitted with good sound control and the ease of ringing these bells have made them one of the BnD's most pealed towers.
